The Third Class

Once Violet partially regained her balance, she chucked her boomerang at Al and prayed to God it would hit her mark. There really was a good possibility it could go anywhere, considering she was too frazzled to really throw with aim at the moment and in general she just had bad aim.

Al was surprised that Violet's throw managed to nail him in his left arm, hard. He was sure it would leave a bruise. He didn't stop though, he grabbed her boomerang before she could reach for it, and threw it back to her. More like slide it fast against the ground, hoping to hit her feet and knock her down.

The boomerang came zooming at Violet and struck her in the left arm. It hit her with such a force, she stumbled backwards onto the very edge of the platform. She lost her balance and started to fall backwards, her arms flailing and with a scream she fell to the ground, landing hard on her back so that the wind got knocked out of her and the back of her head slammed into the ground.

Aravis rushed over to Violet. "Are you okay?! Can I get you anything?" she asked quickly.

Al was surprised he had won, but was instantly sorry for knocking her down. He ran to the edge and jumped off the platform.

"A-are you a-a-alright?" He asked, lending her a hand to help her up.

Randy watched wide-eyed. His eyes turned ice blue, skin leaked of color, and his hair turned white. He scarambled over to Reed, tears threatining to leak. "I'm scared." he whispered, clutching her arm.

Voilet let out a sound that was somewhat a cross between a sob and a groan. She had a bruise on her arm and rib cage, and blood was still trickling down the right side of her face from the head injury. The back of her head was throbbing from the fall and she was starting to see black spots. Violet barely even heard her concerned friends and she just continued to lay on the ground in a daze.

Ryuu had slipped through the portal and past the majority of fighting unseen, and hopped off onto a nearby rock. Closing his eyes, the shadow of the rock, which was cast across the ground below, began to write and ripple. "Hya!" Thrusting his fists forward, Ryuu send a blaze of darkness flying forward in a screeching wave. He wasn't sure whom he'd hit, but he saw the shadow hit someone.

Payton watched Violet lay on the ground helplessly after she was beaten in the match. Her fingers twitched nervously. She wanted to run oven and heal Violet but she needed to conserve her energy for when she had to fight. While she was deep in her thoughts, Payton was suddenly knocked to the ground by some dark... something. Payton sat on the ground, confused, and looked around for whatever had hit her.

Alex's head snapped to the attacker. Seeing Ryuu, he quickly re-organized the names on the brackets. "Ryuu versus Nyla. Now." he spat.

Nyla looked up when she heard her name. "Me, and Ryuu? This is gonna be very bad.." She whispered to herself. She walked forward to the arena thing, ready to battle. She took a glance at Ryuu before taking out her weapon.

Ryuu froze for a moment, staring down at Nyla. Nyla.. Why her? Why not someone I hate? Ryuu dragged his eyes from the young woman and set a cold glare on Alex. "Fine," he snarled over the breeze, his voice resonating throughout the area, "as long as I'm not being instructed like a pet."
Curling his fingers, a blast of shadow sent Ryuu flying towards the entrance of the arena. Landing neatly on both feet, Ryuu flashed Nyla a slight apologetic glance, before stepping inside.

Nyla looked at him with sadness as he entered. She look down at here weapon and laid a hand on it. She didn't want to use her power yet.

Ryuu swallowed hard, and took his place. Power pulsed through his bloodstream, but he was far from being motivated to fight. I bet they did this on purpose.

Nyla sat there looking at Ryuu, waiting for him to make the first move. She didn't want to strike him at all, but if this meant improving her power then she had to. Her dark brown eye's wondered to the crowd but then back to Ryuu.

Ryuu ground his teeth together, staring with narrowed eyes at the surrounding crowd. Whoever planned this.. Deserves to be stabbed. The young man curled his fingers, dark energy beginning to glow dimly on the surface of his skin.
"I'm sorry, Nyla."
Leaping into the air, Ryuu sent a vortex of shadow racing towards his friend, regret biting into him like a snake's fangs.

Nyla looked at the shadows that came racing toward. She gripped the metal of her weapon, and adsorbed the metal to take the hit just in time. The metal girl raced forward her weapon aiming for Ryuu.

Ryuu leaped out of the way of Nyla, his leg getting clipped on the knee as he went. The pain blossomed into a terrible throbbing sensation, and he nearly fell over when he landed. Forced to go on, Ryuu raised his hands into the sky, and twisted his wrists in small circles. Dark whips gathered around his body. Then, with the flick of his hands, they shot outward.

Nyla stood her ground getting a few wounds here and there, even though she was metal. She rushed for him again, this time aiming for his face with a punch for a metal hand. That will hurt if it lands.

Ryuu hadn't been fast enough to dodge. Nyla's iron fist came down on his jaw, and there was a sickening snap.
A cry of pain rang out through the arena, and Ryuu jumped back. Scarlet liquid was seeping steadily out of a gash on his chin, and his jaw was oddly misplaced.
It wasn't Nyla's fault that this was happening.. It was whoever had planned this'.
They would get it.
But, unfortunately, with blinding pain distorting his judgement, the young black-haired man was unable to think straight.
An odd sound between a growl and snarl came from him, and Ryuu curled his fingers once more. Suddenly, a mass of black, fire-like energy arose from the ground, spiraling madly in a spherical storm above Ryuu's head. Throwing his hands upwards, the mass of shadows exploded..
All over the arena.

Nyla looked up at the shadows covering the arena. She knelt down to try and cover herself.

Ryuu lowered his arms and dropped to his knees. His jaw was throbbing furiously, and his muscles ached from the amount of shadows he'd controlled.
No.. I can't give up now.. It's too early!
But the tiredness gnawed at him like a beaver's teeth.. Oh, how nice a trip to the infirmary would be.. But he still had one trick up his sleeve.
Raising a single hand, Ryuu raised Nyla's own shadow off of the ground. With a the snap of his hand, the shadow shot up and bashed the girl's stomach.

Nyla was knocked onto her back with a thud. She sat stunned for a moment before she slowly rose.She stood panting, she felt like she was going to collapse. She let the metal fall from her body, as she returned to normal. She walked over to Ryuu, and held her weapon tightly in her hand. She didn't know what to do.
